At Soul City Studio, we desire to impact people with Christ while encouraging them in their craft. One of the ways we serve Midtown is by opening our studio to potters so they will have a space to hone their skills and be able to make a living from ceramics. You will find details of the monthly membership to Soul City Studio below:

Hours:

Potter’s may attend up to all of the open hours per month. Your spot for each session must be reserved ahead of time to ensure you will have a wheel (see “Studio Space”).

Monday, Wednesday and Friday 9AM - 12PM

Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday 5PM - 8PM

Materials:

• Clay and glazes are to be brought by the potter and may be stored on your designated shelf.

• Both clay and glazes need to be rated cone 6 (not 06).

• Tools, Tables, Slab Roller, and Wheels are all provided by Soul City Studio and may be used in accordance with our etiquette policy.

Studio Space:

Participants are required to sign up for a class time online to reserve their spot for each session they would like to throw. This will reserve you a wheel and ensure we do not overbook our members. Sign up through your account online in the member’s area.

Kiln Use:

Studio employees will load and unload the kiln. Pieces that are ready to be bisque or glaze fired should be placed on the appropriate shelf, awaiting studio employees to load the kiln. Once fired, member’s pieces will be placed on their designated shelves. All pieces must be marked with the members initials or logo before firing. There should be no glaze on the bottom or ¼ inch up the sidewalls of a piece. If your piece does not meet firing requirements it will be placed back on your shelf with a note. Bisque fires are to cone 06 and glaze fires are to cone 6.

Price:

The cost per potter is $100 per month, due on the first of the month ensuing. Payment is accepted through our website (Membership).
